WELCOME TO CHELSEA FC - SEASON 2023 REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN!

Our regular season caters for players turning a minimum of 5 years old in 2023, right through to players over 45 years of age and beyond.

With a hugely successful Season 2022, with our highest number of registrations on record, we have big expectations for Season 2023.  We are hoping to break that record in this our 14th year and have more players and more inclusive teams representing the Club and our community.
This year more than ever early registration will be vital to secure your spot.  We already have over 100+ new players on our waiting list, so to secure your spot to play in Royal Blue get on and register ASAP!

With our operating costs increasing year on year, for the first time in 4 years we are having to increase our Registration fees. The increases are between 5-9% across most playing groups.
Please remember that we have a payment plan option available to you when you register, so you do not need to pay in full upfront. In addition, we are a Get Active Kids provider, should you fit the criteria.

Your registration will be complete after these steps are finalised:
- You register online with the club;
- You pay your fees online or via a payment plan;
- You sign up to FA's Play Football (will be available in February);
- You participate in assessments / trials (notice will be sent in January / February);
- CFC places you in to a team.

For Mini Roos (u12 /Born 2011 and down) this year when registering you will be prompted to complete a Team Selection question. This will ask whether you would like your child to play in one of the following types of teams:

- Graded Teams: These teams will train twice a week with experienced or certified coaches. Purely Ability-based. All players assessed and selected on the same level of football ability. Not based on friendship requests. Suitable for talented, ambitious and committed players and parents. Teams play in higher level leagues;
- Social Teams: These teams will train once (or sometimes twice) a week with volunteer coaches. Friendship-based. All football abilities included and play in a less competitive league;
- No preference: Happy to play in any team and will leave the decision up to the Football Department after assessment.

We cannot advise strongly enough to get yourselves registered as soon as possible - spaces will fill up fast and we have to operate on a first come first served basis.

For more detailed information on registration or fees, please go to our Registrations page on our website. If you need further information on any Age Group, please head to the page labelled "TEAMS". Or drop us an email at info@chelseafootballclub.com.au.

Terms and conditions

  • CHELSEA FOOTBALL CLUB TERMS AND CONDITIONS

    The following are the Terms and Conditions of the club which you agree to when you register.

    1. REGISTRATION
    By registering with Chelsea FC you agree to abide by the Constitution, Codes of Conduct and all terms and conditions, all of which are displayed on the club website (www.chelseafootballclub.com.au).
    Refund of registration fees will be considered on a case by case basis and requests for refunds must be presented in writing to the Executive Committee. The request must specify the reasons why the player is leaving the club and whether the player is seeking a transfer to an alternative club.
    PLEASE NOTE THAT CHELSEA FC NOW RUNS A STRICT NO PAY NO PLAY POLICY. This includes game time and training. Please ensure you are fully paid up or on a payment plan before Round 1 to avoid any disappointment.

    2. TEAM SELECTION
    Chelsea FC has adopted the National Curriculum as its playing philosophy across all teams from U7 up. All coaches have been instructed and will be monitored to ensure that the playing philosophy is implemented. This is to ensure that all players are instructed in the same manner on how to play the game of soccer at Chelsea FC.
    The age group for a player is determined by the player's age on 1 January. If a player is 6 on 1 January they are eligible to play in the U7 competition for the entire year. FFV rules and regulations permit that a player may be able to play at a lower age group for one year provided they have never been registered with FFA previously. Special dispensation with FFV needs to be sought prior to the player being able to play down one age level.
    All small sided (U7 to U11) teams will decided by the Chelsea FC football department in conjunction with the appropriate coach or coaches. Consideration will be given to the ability of the player as well as friendships with other players. The emphasis on lower age groups is to teach the playing philosophy in a fun environment giving every player equal opportunity to develop the skills and enjoyment of playing soccer. At this level match results are not recorded, so the focus on all teams will not be on winning games, but on the development of skills in accordance with the playing philosophy.
    All junior (U12 to U18) teams will be decided by the Chelsea FC football department in conjunction with the appropriate coach or coaches. The major consideration for all teams will be ability with less importance on friendship groups. The emphasis on these age groups is to develop a team structure based on the playing philosophy.
    All senior teams will be decided by the senior coach.

    3. PLAYER GAME TIME
    For all junior and sub junior (U7 to U18) teams equal game time is not guaranteed. FFV policy states that players should have at least 35% game time across the entirety of the season (unless illness or injury conflicts with this) and Chelsea FC adheres to this policy. For all senior teams game time is at the discretion of the coaching staff. It is an expectation that all players attend all compulsory training sessions as indicated by the relevant coach and to arrive at games at the time specified by the coach or team manager. If acceptable reasons are not provided for either of the above, coaches may decide to lessen game time for the player. This applies to all players in a team regardless of their ability.

    4. MEDICAL
    If medical attention is required for our child, in the event that neither parent nor guardian is present, we give our permission for the appointed adult, i.e. coach, team manager, etc. in charge to seek and obtain medical treatment or hospitalization for our child. We agree to meet all medical expenses for urgent medical attention which is required and is not covered by insurance held by the Club. We acknowledge that the Club is covered by insurance for losses arising out of public liability and with respect to losses incurred as a result of emergency and/or ongoing medical treatment suffered by players during the course of training and/or competition. We acknowledge that the insurance policy held by the Club with respect to medical and like expenses incurred as a result of injuries suffered by the players during the course of training and/or competition may not cover all of the medical and like expenses and that any shortfall in the cost of obtaining urgent and/or continuing medical treatment shall be borne by us.
    We further acknowledge that we shall have no claim against the Club nor seek reimbursement by the Club of any medical or like expenses incurred by us as a result of any injury suffered by our child in the course of training and/or competition save for any damages incurred by us which may be recovered against the Club as a result of a negligent act or omission by the Club or by its duly appointed agents. We understand that non financial players are not be covered by insurance and will not be selected to play until registration fees are paid in full. We acknowledge that we may inspect the insurance policy held by the Club by request to the Club Secretary.

    5. PHOTOS
    In the interests of protecting the privacy and rights of all club members and particularly our younger players (under 18yrs), Chelsea FC has adopted the following policies and guidelines when publishing images or text on the web.
    When registering, all members agree to the Terms and Conditions of the Club one of which states "We grant the Club the right to publish photographs of the player for purposes of marketing and/or promotion of club activities provided that these photos do not include any personal details of any player. If a player's name is to be used, then prior authorization will be obtained from the parent or guardian."
    Photographs or images submitted to Chelsea Football Club with the intention of making them accessible on the website will be carefully examined to ensure that they are appropriate and will not attract any negative attention before being made available on the website.
    Images of minors (under 18yrs): No personal information (e.g. names, addresses, contact numbers, email addresses) will accompany photographs/images on the Chelsea FC website. All images of junior players (i.e. under 18yrs) will be captioned with basic information about the game only (e.g. under 12's Chelsea versus Keysborough,12th November 2008). In accompanying articles players may be identified using their first name only where permission from a parent/guardian has been obtained.
    Images of players 18yrs and older: Name or game information (e.g. 2nd Division, Chelsea versus Ashburton, 12th November 2008) will be used as captions for images of players 18 years or older. Where images identify players by name, formal permission is required. Unless otherwise formally advised, the Chelsea FC does not endorse or take responsibility for any individual who photographs or captures video footage of players, officials and other members of the public. The Chelsea Football Club advises all individuals who intend to take photographs and/or videos of games involving Chelsea FC players to obtain consent from the relevant coach/team manager. It is advised that individuals also obtain permission from opposition coaches/team managers. The Chelsea Football Club does not take responsibility for individuals who fail to adhere to this guideline.
    Images and photos may not be copied or downloaded without permission of the Chelsea Football Club. The Chelsea Football Club does not take responsibility for inappropriate use of images or footage obtained during the course of games involving Chelsea Football Club teams, or for images downloaded from the internet. Permission given to publish images on the Chelsea Football Club can only be revoked in writing.

    6. TRAINING
    The club and the coach will determine the day/s and time of your weekly training sessions. It is expected that all team members will attend training and in the event of a training session being cancelled, then the Club will communicate this ASAP through the agreed communication channels used by the team. Should team members not be able to attend training, they are required to communicate this with the team manager.

    7. GRIEVANCE
    If a player, parent or guardian has a grievance with any aspect of their team, then they are to raise it with their team manager, who will then raise the issue with the coach. After this process, if the matter has not been resolved, then the team manager should report this matter to the Technical Director or Welfare Officer for further discussion and resolution.

    8. CODES OF BEHAVIOUR
    PLAYERS CODE OF BEHAVIOUR
    I will not engage in the use of crude, foul or abusive language that may be determined offensive or engage in any conduct detrimental to the image of the game when on or off the field. I will refrain from arguing with the referee and/or assistant referees regarding decisions they make. I will treat participants, officials and spectators with respect. I will play by the laws of the game. I will cooperate with my coach, team mates, referees and officials. I will not use any banned substance or drugs of dependence. I will display good sportsmanship at all times.

    PARENTS CODE OF BEHAVIOUR
    Remember that children play sport for their enjoyment, and not yours. Encourage children to participate, do not force them. Focus on the child's efforts and performance rather than the result of the activity (that is winning or losing). Encourage children to always participate according to the rules and to settle disagreements without resorting to hostility or violence. Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a game. Remember that children learn best by example, so applaud good play by both teams.
    Support all efforts to remove racial and religious vilification, verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities. Respect the match officials' decisions and teach your child to do likewise. Show respect and appreciation to club volunteers, including coaches, officials and administrators. Ensure any issues are raised through the correct channels. Do not smoke or consume alcohol near the team bench (Technical Area) or sideline. Never attempt to invade the soccer pitch under no circumstances

    SPECTATORS CODE OF BEHAVIOUR
    Remember all children play soccer for their enjoyment, not just yours. Applaud good play and performances from both teams. Congratulate all participants on their performance regardless of the game's outcome. Respect the match official's decisions on the day and teach children to do the same. Never ridicule or scold a child for making a mistake before, during or after the game, as this may deter that child from continuing in the sport. Condemn the use of violence in any form, whether by spectators, coaches, officials or players.
    Show respect for both teams when watching matches, because without them there would be no game. Encourage players to follow rules and accept the decision of the match official. Do not intimidate, harass or use foul language towards players, match officials, club officials or spectators Respect the rights, dignity, andworth of every young person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.

    IN BREACH OF THE CODE OF BEHAVIOUR
    If a player / parent or spectator receives a red card, verbal or written violation which results in a fine due to inappropriate behaviour the following course of action will be undertaken: If fine is received from either the FFV or Bayside League the person/s involved in the incident will be fully accountable for PAYING THE FINE within the payment terms. All cases will head in front of Chelsea Football Club disciplinary committee to decide the course of action that must be taken after any incident. Action could result in any parent/player/spectator having suspensions/bans from the Club,its grounds and Events.
